This leg wound has been plaguing me from mid June and it’s mid January now, so time for an update. Pretty much every week I have been to the nurse for a dressing and she is happy with the progress.
However, she is not ready for me to have a bath so I will be showering by protecting the wound and dressing with the plastic leg I’ve worn in the shower for the last 6 months.
There is another problem, the NHS is running out of small dressing pads of the right type. So I have Mepilex dressings that are self adhesive, so I have to use a viscose dressing underneath them and my nurse handed me a dressing that is 14cm (5.5″) x 20cm (7.8″) for a wound that is just over an inch in size.
